Niagara Frontier Chapter Awards 4 Scholarships

The Niagara Frontier Chapter awarded four scholarships at their monthly meeting on June 23, 2015 at Panes Restaurant. All the ladies are non-traditional students. They have families and are now going back to school.

Jennifer Bognar lives in Tonawanda and attended Cardinal O'Hara High School.  She is a graduate of UB and is currently working as a nuclear technologist at South Buffalo Mercy Hospital. She is a full time student at Daemen College in their Physician Assistant Graduate Program. Her career goal is to have an active role in shaping medicine and helping people.

Jennifer Lipiarz lives in Lancaster and graduated from West Seneca East High School. She is attending Trocaire College to become a registered nurse. Jennifer and her husband have two children, the youngest being a special needs child with a feeding tube. She is becoming a RN because she never wants anyone who is ill not to get the proper care and guidance they deserve.

Tara Petty lives in Buffalo with her husband and two children. She attended Oakridge High School in Michigan. She graduated from Erie Community College this year with a 4.0 and will be attended Buffalo State College. Her next step will be to transfer to UB to achieve her career goal as a therapist after she earns her master's degree in social work. She wants to help women overcome challenging situations.

Lisa Zeames lives in West Seneca with her husband and 3 children. She attended Mt Mercy Academy.She is currently attending Trocaire College. Her career goal is to earn a degree in Radiologic Technology. Faced with the closing of a gas station/convenience store that she managed for 10 years she decided to follow her dream of going back to school.
