Clarence Chapter presents 5 grants to community organizations

Author: Communications Committee/Monday, June 6, 2016/Categories: Chapter News

New York State Women, Inc., Clarence Chapter recently held its 18th Annual Basket Auction to raise money for its award and benefit program at the Brookfield Country Club in Clarence, NY.  This year’s emcee was Mary Beth Wrobel, local television meteorologist.  At the event, grants were presented to local area non-profits from funds raised at last year’s event.  The recipients included The Pink Pillow Project, a group that supports post-surgery breast cancer patients; The Guiding Eyes for the Blind to provide supplies for puppies who will be trained for this important service; Beds from Brian, a group that provides beds and bedding for local area shelters who house children in times of need; The C. Dee Wright Community Center, an Akron, NY group that endeavors to “fill the gaps” in the community by providing services; and The Just Buffalo Literary Center who provides year-round writing workshops for young people to sharpen their writing skills.  It was another successful event this year, and the Chapter hopes to continue to provide grants to area non-profits in the future.
