Advocacy Update From Conference

This year's General Election provides us with the opportunity to make changes that will advance our legislative priorities, or impede them. In addition to the presidency, the American people also will have the opportunity to vote for every member of the House of Representatives.

Gifts $2000 to Harbor Lights Theater Company

NYS Women Staten Island Support Women in the Performing Arts

The Staten Island chapter of New York State Women Inc. presented the Harbor Lights Theater Company program with a $2,000 check to enhance their efforts to bring Broadway level productions to the Island and to provide opportunities for thriving local artists.

NYSW, Inc., Westchester 2016 Scholarship Winner

On May 17, 2016, Kathy Stagg presented the Westchester Chapter 2016 scholarship award to Madison Sacramone at the May dinner meeting at which Madison and her father, Steven, were the honored guests. The award is for $1000, along with a student membership to NYSW, Inc.

Rome Chamber of Commerce, Co-hosted the 22nd Congressional District Primary Political Forum
Professional Business Women of Rome, in partnership with the Rome Chamber of Commerce, co- hosted the 22nd Congressional District primary political forum. The event was held in the morning of May 11th at the Beeches Restaurant in Rome. Candidates spoke and were asked questions from students of our local high school along with area Community leaders.
Westchester Chapter sponsored a Women’s History Contest

The Westchester Chapter sponsored a Women’s History Contest in March in The Montessori Academy in Yonkers, New York.  The contest is open to all first, second and third graders.  Each student was asked to choose a woman that they felt had made a difference and why they felt the woman had made a difference.

CNY Chapter Grant Information

The CNY Chapter is offering (1) $500.00 grant to an adult women residing in Oswego, Madison and/or Onondaga County in financial need who is returning to school as a result of the recent recession, corporate downsizing or a change in family structure (i.e. separation, divorce or death) to specifically pursue an education in the medical and/or health sciences field. 

Richmond County Chapter - Shaunte Colbert, Winner of Our Women in History Essay Contest

The Richmond County Chapter of New York State Women, Inc. is pleased to announce the winner of the NYSW RC Chapter’s Women in History Essay Contest, Shaunte Colbert,for her essay on Ella Baker.

Youth Leadership Conference Hosted by Lake to Lake Women

Region VII chapters, Lake to Lake Women, assisted by Yates County Women recently hosted a Youth Leadership Conference with a Reality Store® component.  On March 5th, 15 girls from several area schools came together in Waterloo for a day of learning and camaraderie.
