Chadwick Bay Chapter of NYS Women Inc. met on May 19th at the Fireside Manor to award our scholarships to non-traditional students. We were pleased to present Jacquelyn Sasso, of Fredonia and Kamie Fields of Dunkirk with $750 certificates. These scholarships are made possible by the Getaway Weekend held this past March at the Clarion Hotel.

Kamie Fields received her Bachelor’s degree from the Empire State College in December 2013. She is currently enrolled at Medaille College and plans on graduating in 2016. She eventually wants to work in the capacity of licensed clinical mental health counselor.

Jacquelyn Sasso currently has two associate degrees and is working towards a bachelor degree in human information management from Jamestown Business College. With her newly gained knowledge she has turned a paper office into an electronic billing office. She has increased efficiency in the scheduling of patients.

Renee Cerullo, incoming President of New York State Women Inc. was our guest speaker. She expressed the importance of networking and resources available through our organization. The annual conference will be held May 29 and 30th at the Millennium Hotel in Cheektowaga. Althea Luehrsen, CEO of Leadership Buffalo, will share dynamic networking tips and techniques. Learn the importance of making connections in today’s business world. Another guest speaker at the conference will be Nancy Weil of the Laugh Academy. She is the author of “ If Stress Doesn’t Kill You, Your Family Might”. Nancy teaches simple tools to enhance lives and relieve stress.

The Chadwick Bay Chapter of NYS Women Inc. is reaching out to the Northern Chautauqua County to expand our membership. Not only does our chapter perform community work but we also foster the success of women in the workforce throughout our community; offering career advancement resources, helpful work/life strategies, leadership development, and personal and professional connections. NYS Women Inc. also offers a unique network for women’s empowerment; insight into the balance of work and family; opportunity to build their leadership capability; and a forum to develop personal and professional skills to further their careers.
