This year – 2017 – marks 100 years since New York State signed woman’s suffrage into law, three years before the U.S. passed the 19th Amendment. Equal opportunity for women is as crucial a topic in today’s political climate as it was when Susan B. Anthony was arrested in Rochester for attempting to vote. Join us for a discussion about the social, professional, and political progress of women in New York State. We’ll connect contemporary concerns – civil rights, gender diversity, equality, and civic engagement – to the legacy of women’s suffrage.
