Theresa Lynne Fazzolari RPA-C, affectionately known as TeeTee, is a Senior Physician Assistant at NYU Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. She is an accomplished and motivational patient-focused PA with strong clinical skills and a member of the medical team in the Pediatric Department for almost 24 years. Her responsibilities include: Managing and administering compassionate care to well newborn nursery and pediatric in-patients that results in improved patient care; Interacting with Physicians and Consultants on patient physical assessments; Documenting and computerizing patient information obtained from intake interviews; Writing protocols which improve the treatment for pediatric asthma patients and pain management; and preparing monthly detailed Work Schedules to ensure 24/7 coverage and smooth operational flow. Theresa also holds certifications in Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitative Program, and American Red Cross Lifeguard Training with First Aid Certification. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Theresa graduated with Honors from The College of Staten Island/The City University of New York with a BS Degree in Biology. She was elected to “Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities” and upon graduating received several Awards and Honors, the most prestigious being the ‘Dolphin Award’, given to a graduating student for Leadership and Dedicated Service to the College. She then attended Bayley Seton Hospital’s PA Training Program where she received her PA Certificate and later served as an Instructor in the Program. Over the years she has increased her knowledge by participating in Continuing Medical Education Courses in Pediatric Emergencies & Current Concepts in Neonatal Care administered by Symposia Medicus.
Theresa has been involved with the Staten Island Swimming and Diving Association for over 40 years. As a youth she swam competitively and won numerous medals and ribbons. She was the first recipient of the ‘Toschi Dowd Memorial Award’, given to a graduating Senior Swimmer who exemplifies Dedication, Service and Leadership to the SI Swimming and Diving Association. She also was a member of the Synchronized Swim Team which performed two years at the NY State Empire State Games. Her devotion to and love for swimming did not end after her competitive swimming years. Since then she has coached the Swim Team, almost 100 children, ages 4 to 18, in the Development where she lives.
Theresa loves listening to Bon Jovi, is an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoys traveling.
Professionally, she has been active in BPW and NYSW, Inc. (Richmond County and Bay Ridge Chapters). She has served on many Committees and held many offices on the Local, District and State levels. These include: State President-Elect (2015-2016), State 1st Vice President (2014-2015), State 2nd Vice President (2013-2014), State Nominating Chair (2012-2014), Grace Legendre Endowment Fund Board of Directors (2011-2014), District II Director (2010-2012) Richmond County Chapter – Treasurer (2009-2010, 2012-2016), President (2010-2012) Bay Rudge Chapter - President (2000-2002).
Theresa is a strong advocate of “Women Helping Women”. During 2016-2017 she plans to recognize and honor women who help to make NYSWI grow and reach its full potential and become greater and more powerful.
